Meet the Founder, Ellen Jane Baker
Ellen is currently working as the Career Development Director for the Master of Management in Clinical Informatics and the Master and PhD Programs in Biostatistics at the Duke University School of Medicine She had served as an Executive Coach to the MBA program at the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University for 14 years, Previously, Ellen was Director of MBA Resources at the College of Management of NC StateUniversity. She launched the Career Center and developed and taught the groundbreaking Managerial and Career Effectiveness course. Using traditional methods well as e-learning techniques and streaming video she taught graduate business students vital communication, leadership and business etiquette skills to ensure their success in Corporate America. In addition, she created and taught specialized programs to international students to help them integrate into American business and understand the cultural difference between their home countries and the U.S. She consistently receives rave reviews from clients and corporations alike. She has been an interpreter/officer for the U.S. Department of State, specializing in French West Africa, Senior Vice President of the New York Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Vice President of an international commercial real estate organization, and Director of the international division of a software training company.

She holds a Masters degree in French Studies and a TESOL certificate from the American University in Washington, DC. She earned a Bachelors degree in French from New York University and a Certificat de Langue Française from the Université de Paris.

She has been featured in New York Woman Magazine, as well as in the TV series “Woman Watch” highlighting interesting and innovative women in business. The Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce has recognized her as a “Business Leader” in the Triangle. She was a Board member of Tech Engage, Chaired the 2005 Masquerade Madness to benefit the Tammy Lynn Center, a member of SIETAR (Society for International Education, Training and Research), ASTD (American Society for Training & Development), the MBA Career Services Council, the Triangle OD Network, the Raleigh Professional Women’s Forum, the Triangle’s International Visitors Council. In April 2012, she was chosen by Carolina Style Magazine as one of the 5 most stylish people in the Triangle.
